1. If 1 pencil costs ₹5, what is the cost of 4 pencils?

1 pencil = ₹5, so 4 pencils = 4 × 5 = ₹20.
2. If 9 books cost ₹540, what is the cost of 4 books?

1 book = 540 ÷ 9 = ₹60. So 4 books = 4 × 60 = ₹240.
3. If a dozen bananas cost ₹60, what is the cost of 20 bananas?

A dozen = 12 bananas. 1 banana = 60 ÷ 12 = ₹5. So 20 bananas = 20 × 5 = ₹100.
4. An auto-rickshaw in Bengaluru charges a fixed rate per kilometre.
For a 12 km ride the meter showed ₹192.
A passenger then takes a 17 km ride at the same rate.
How much will the 17 km ride cost?

5. A sweet shop in Varanasi packs laddoos at a fixed rate per box.
The owner notices that 9 boxes cost a customer ₹1107, and a different customer paid ₹1845 for boxes at the same rate.
How many more boxes did the second customer buy compared to the first?
