AVERAGE gives the mean: (12 + 15 + 9 + 20 + 14) ÷ 5 = 70 ÷ 5 = 14. (70 is the sum.)
5. Rohit's marks are 65, 70, 75, 80 and x, where x is more than 80. If the mean equals the median, what is x?
Show answer
Answer: D) 85
With x > 80, the median is 75. Mean = 75 means total = 375, so x = 375 − 290 = 85.
