Let the number be x. x + 7 = 19, so x = 19 - 7 = 12.
2. Sum of three consecutive even numbers is 78. Find the largest of them.

Let them be x, x+2, x+4. 3x + 6 = 78, 3x = 72, x = 24. Largest = x + 4 = 28.
3. Aman is 5 years older than his brother Karan. Eight years ago, Aman was twice as old as Karan.
Let Karan's present age be x years. Set up the age equation and find Karan's present age (in years).

Aman = x + 5. Eight years ago: Aman = x + 5 - 8 = x - 3, Karan = x - 8. x - 3 = 2(x - 8), x - 3 = 2x - 16, 13 = x. Karan is 13 years old.
4. A sum of Rs 500 is divided between Geeta and Hari so that Geeta gets Rs 100 less than twice what Hari gets.
How much does Hari get (in Rs)?

5. Sameer divides a sum of Rs 8400 into two parts.
One part is Rs 600 more than the other part.
